Seven steps toward Recovery

HOW IT WORKS

It is not:

  • a series of counseling sessions,
  • putting your heart, your mind or your problems in the hands of a guru or expert
  • a 'hot seat' situation in which you have to share your troubles
  • in conflict with counseling or therapy (attendance actually assists the counseling process)

It is:

  • gentle, non-confrontational and supportive
  • an opportunity to share just what you want to (and no more), just when you want to (and not before)
  • an opportunity to listen to others who have also suffered loss
  • a safe environment in which to make friends
  • a way of learning about grief and how to live beyond the hard times
  • a process which helps clear your own mind and make your own decisions

THE WORKSHOP PROGRAM

  • Seven meetings following a step by step program which participants work with at their own pace
  • Each meeting: 2.5 hours, a rhythm of input and sharing, and a time for refreshments
  • Each meeting: two video segments - a 30 minute core segment and a 5 minute close.
